I can't get CHDK-Shell-v346.exe to work on Win 7/32-bit.
It runs and loads all cams but you can't click on buttons and then it freezes.  Alt+Ctrl+del to exit.
v340 and v344 ran fine.
It runs fines on Win 7/64-bit.  Any ideas?

Try running the source script (.au3) - you need to have AutoIt installed for this to work.

I cannot confirm, works fine on my win7 32bit machine.

Try to start the program without internet connection.

Thanks srsa_4c and msl.

I got it to work by copying all the folders from one PC to the other. I'm sure something was missing in the Win 32 machine.

But now I have another problem. It works fine if I use trunk4231 but it freezes if I select trunk4309 (All without internet connection).

On the Win 64-bit machine I can use trunk4309 without problems.

This works from the shell (CHDK-Shell-v346) command line:
gmake PLATFORM=<platform> PLATFORMSUB=<firmware> firzipsubcomplete
So I don't think the problem is the compiler.
On Win7/32-bit as soon as CHDK-Shell-v346 loads trunk4309 with the "Change" button it freezes.

On Win7/32-bit as soon as CHDK-Shell-v346 loads trunk4309 with the "Change" button it freezes.
Try this: Edit the entry 'maxsearch0' in the ini file. The value must be greater than the last revision, e.g. maxsearch0=4400. Another option is to delete or rename the ini file. Then everything has to be re-adjusted.

Using:

maxsearch0=4400

CHDK-Shell-v346.exe displays [Initialising...] when it starts and it stays there forever. The only way out is by right-clicking on the program's icon and selecting "exit".
Deleting CHDK-Shell-v346.ini does the same thing.

Attached is the ini file that works, but then when I use that one, I can't  load trunk4309 with the "Change" button or CHDK-Shell-v346.exe freezes.

Then I don't know what it else could be.

I know the shell v3.46 works with some limitations (internet functions, camera selection a.s.o.). But it runs on different PCs (32 or 64 bit, XP - Win 10).

The program code is very extensive and complicated. Only whim has a chance to manage this code. For the development of CHDK it would be better if we had a new and simpler compiler GUI, e.g. download the recent sources, selection of cameras, compiler options and ready.

msl,
I 'll keep using "gmake PLATFORM=<platform> PLATFORMSUB=<firmware> firzipsubcomplete" from the command line on Win7/32-bit until Whim (a nice guy) gets us a new shell.
On Win7-10/64-bit things work fine for me. Thanks anyway.

Some questions...
Can a bat file be created to run from the command line without having to use CHDK-Shell-v346.exe? Or must CHDK-Shell-v346.exe be running in order to do any type of compiling.

If I could have just a bat file to compile for a cam that would do. I know that you can compile from within CHDK-Shell-v346.exe by clicking at the command line button but I am trying to avoid running CHDK-Shell-v346.exe.

If anyone knows, please feel free to post a bat file that will do the job.
