@jetzt -- Re. 0.8 or .8 -- Layman's convention is to not bother including the preceding 0 before the . (decimal point), in the USA anyway. I'm torn between doing it the scientific way or just the every-day way.
BTW. Many programming languages (including C) also accept this notation (without leading zeros) of floating numbers...

whim,
what environment variables path do you check for when the program launches?
i got a messages with "please install the compiler shell to a path containing NO SPACES!". but i didnt even have the compiler shell installed (or at least i didnt add the path anywhere). where & what do you check?
if you want, you can actually publish the *.au3 sources, as i do alot of autoit @ work :)

My math-teacher doesn't  :haha
He doesn't care about code-size  :D

Ok, I give in: I didn't know about it. So reading chdk-forum is much more effective than school, oops we have
vacation here.

@all

Well I think I addressed most of the things on my (well at least the top part) :D and other peoples wishlist so far.

* improved install flexibility (can choose: devkit DL / install from local rar / move gcc folder manually)
* ironed out many bugs (can't even remember how many :D)
* interface now resizable + tweak included to (re)correct fontsize (sorry, no WinPosition memory, it's on the list,
   together with auto-email error file)

+ can now optionally auto refresh to downloaded version, and
+ can autocompile (selected only or all)
+ keeps an eye on diskspace

hope you enjoy !

@PhyrePhox - take the manual install route and your question will be answered, but to cut it short: no I decided
                     to not change any regkeys, the generated batch file will pass a set PATH=<gccpath>;%PATH%,
                     which temporarily puts <gccpath> in the environment before anything else. I hope this avoids
                     problems with other gcc installs present.
                     About the source: it's autogenerated whenever you run it (and has been since 1st version ...)
                     via FileInstall

Oh.. almost forgot  :haha  edit: removed, see later posts for newer version

oh ok, didnt know about the source, sorry.
"@PhyrePhox - take the manual install route and your question will be answered" - uhm, there was no way to start manual install route!? i could either answer yes or no, which resulted in a stop of the program. gonna test it further though.

Here's version 1.11

* card functions added
   also available separately: (see other thread:  Card Tricks - a small utility to help manage SD cards )

* improved installation to allow operation without GCC (ie you can still check/download trunks, but not compile - had to
   integrate wget in the installer for this, so download a little larger)

get it here:

removed: there's newer versions in later posts

have fun

New version CHDK-Shell v. 1.20

- Added option to extract, edit and apply user preferences for the CHDK default settings;
  after creation these can be applied with one button click, resulting in a build that you
  (ideally) don't have to configure anymore.

have fun,

edit: thanks for the idea, PhyrePhox

edit2: have decided to leave 1 previous version (in case you run into any bugs)

edit3: 19:50 small fix (wrong source was included), link now points to new version)
