assertion failed: how to reset camera?

Hello,

i installed CHDK 1.2.0 on my SD1100, all worked fine.

I then enabled some debug settings to view some values.  Then a short message showed up that an assertion failed and the camera switches off.

Whenever i start CHDK again, that message comes and the camera switches off.

Without CHDK running i selected "Reset All", but no change, when i start CHDK the assertion message comes and the camera switches off.

How can i fix that behaviour?  Any ideas?

Best regards,
Torsten.

Try deleting the CCHDK2.CFG file from the CHDK directory on your SD card ?

Thanks a lot, that helped.

I assumed that CHDK stores data somewhere in the camera, not on the SD card.

Torsten.

Everything that CHDK use is stored in files. Mostly this is this CFG file. There are some other files with settings. In general you might like to walk through /CHDK/ subdirs - you can find there interesting things:D

CHDK doesn't directly write anything to the camera flash memory. Some writes might be done indirectly by CHDK when it runs some pieces of Canon firmware.
