Update Firmware from 1.01B to 1.01E

Hello Everyone,

I recently got the SX 230 and I was surprised to find a "older" firmware on my cam. Since newer Firmwares often come with benefits like improved performance I wondered if it was possible to update the camera and then install the adequate chdk version. Or will there be no difference between the chdk 1.01B and 1.01E when I dump them on my camera?

I am sorry if this matter was already discussed, but I couldn´t find any Information regarding this topic neither via google nor via the search function of this forum. The Canon homepage didn´t gave me the option to download a new firmware...

thanks in regards,

I haven't found any Canon provided updates for firmware. Maybe I missed it. However, both firmware are supported by CHDK. It's possuble that the difference between firmwares are only minor.

You can't replace existing firmware using simple dump. You need Canon-provided updater.

Thanks for the reply.

In that case I will continue to inform me about CHDK and install it soon.
