hi,
my 1st post and i don't really know if it is in right place, but...
I've got PowerShot A490 with 1.00F firmware, with chdk on locked SD card, everything works well but I'm trying to change it into webcamera

I've tried ptpcam, cam4you but it doesn't work nor i cant make it work...

mainly i wanna do it on windows but if there is no other way Linux is fine to


can somebody help me a little ?

What version & revision of CHDK do you have - its shown on the startup logo at the right hand side of the first line.  Its also available in the Miscellaneous menu as "Show Build Info" ?

What operating system are you using ?

What build of chdkptp are you using ?

If on windows, have you installed the libusb driver, and if so, did you use the filter driver or the inf driver ?

about driver
ive installed some package, i cant find what it was but i've got
-libusb-win32 devices
--Canon Digital Camera > in propeties ver 1.2.6.0

and something has happend now i can connect via chdk ptp!
in Live tab i can connect to cmara and seemyself

works fine!

but is there any way to change it ino webcam now ?

i am able to capture and emulate webcam with Vcam but it isnt it...

chdkptp doesn't currently have any support for acting as a webcam. If you can find a program that lets you turn an arbitrary window into a webcam source (like vcam, SCFH DSF etc) then maybe you can use it as a webcam.

i dont wanna screep capture softweare to capture window with chdk it requires open window to capture...

i wanna plug camera>launch 1 program> use camera as ordinary usb webcam
