Hehe... Nice... Barney, you are very optimistic about the numbers (or am I very pessimistic, as usual?)

(Would be interesting to have a compilation of download numbers from all developers and all sites each time a new build is announced. Has anyone ever done a study to see how many might using CHDK regularly? Or might have a graph to show how its use has grown over the last year?)

I have no such numbers. Unfortunately, that free hosting does not provide us with any logs and counters.

But I have one another number. It's the number of downloads of ready-for-use "building environment for Windows" (22MB). Right now the counter is 1068. (So, at least more than 1000 users wanted to build their own build)
CHDK Developer.

Well, there is the potential for camera damage with "super tele-macro-zoom" (or whatever it is called).

Trying tele super macro - dangerous ? [SOLVED]

But that is not the usual operating mode for most people here.

OOops, I forgot one confirmed damage report. Was it fudgey? Or someone else? They got a bloody and blistered finger from lighting a BIC lighter 500 times trying to get some high-speed shots of sparks and flames to test shutter speeds. In medical reports that would be listed as "CHDK Related Injury". Repair costs: 1 ouchless band-aid and everyone else having to offer sympathy.

No, my thumbs were just a little bit sore as I learned from other people's mistakes and stopped igniting before my thumb turned into pulp! :haha
