SX40 10fps...

A new post gives me another opportunity to thank everyone involved with CHDK - it really is something else!

Anyway, the SX40 has a HiQ, 10fps burst in Scene mode but the shooting options are severely limited.  CHDK overrides allow me to set Shutter speed, Aperture, ISO etc. which improves things immensely.  I've done a bit of searching in the forums so forgive me if I've missed it, but is there any way of  implementing the 10fps burst across ALL modes (Tv, Av etc.)?  Having to access the menu's to change settings is a small price to pay but it would improve things no end if fast setting changes could be made as intended (like dialling in shutter speeds/Aperture with the thumb wheel on the back whilst still keeping an eye on the subject).

Cheers,

Andy.

No, there currently no way for CHDK to enable the high speed mode in normal Canon modes, and IMO such a feature would probably be very difficult to implement.

You could write a script which reads key inputs and adjusts exposure etc. Downside of this would be that you could not use a shutter fullpress to shoot while using the script, because that is hardcoded to start/stop a script.

There is also an ongoing effort to revamp the CHDK UI, which could make it using CHDK overrides more convenient. Your input is welcome: http://chdk.setepontos.com/index.php?topic=8151.0

You should keep in mind that CHDK is a hack, things that sound simple are not necessarily simple in practice.
Don't forget what the H stands for.
