hi,
does anyone know if there is any way of turning it off - beep when focus?
i've made a search and it looks like not.
any ideas?

On my Cam (S2IS) there is an option in the menu (the original menu from canon) to mute the camera.

aaa, yes that's only option i know, but it disables all the other 'useful' sounds,
