SD940 IS porting problem

Hello folks...
I'm unable to flash the custom firmware into my camera (sorry for smartphone language)
I copied the files to memory card, when I turn on the camera, I selected firmware update and it said
Update firmware 1.0.3.0 -> 1.1.0.0
I press OK but only auto focus lamp went on stayed like that for half an hour, no button respond, nothing on the screen, the only thing I can do is, remove the battery and turn on the camera again...
The mem card is 4gb big and, since I gave it to my friend to format the card and copy the files, I don't know did he set the FAT16 or FAT32...
Thanks in advance

The SD940 port of CHDK activates the auto focus lamp immediately at boot.  I did that for just this sort of situation as it tells us you have successfully loaded the CHDK file.

The lack of activity after that says CHDK crashed - which is most likely because you have loaded a version that does not match the firmware version in your camera.   (It could also be a corrupted bootdisk.bin file but that's much less likely).

The card format (FAT16 or FAT32) does not matter when you are booting via the firmware update method.

How did you determine which the firmware version to use (and therefore which of the ixus120_sd940 files to load) ?

The methods described here all work for your camera :
http://chdk.wikia.com/wiki/FAQ#Q._How_can_I_get_the_original_firmware_version_number_of_my_camera.3F
I'd recommend the ACID program as the easiest to get right :
http://www.zenoshrdlu.com/acid/acid.html

Then download the correct version of CHDK after reading the information here :
http://chdk.wikia.com/wiki/Downloads

You probably also need to read this at some point :
http://chdk.wikia.com/wiki/Prepare_your_SD_card

p.s. CHDK does not actually "flash" your firmware.  In fact,  it does not change it at all.  CHDK loads into the cameras RAM memory and runs from there.  Each time you restart your camera,  CHDK is gone and needs to be reloaded - either by the firmware update method or via autoboot from the SD card.

Thank you for quick reply, you were right, it was all about the version, I downloaded 'C' instead of 'B' version...
Now everything works right, thank you again, cheers...
