CHDK boot problems on an s100

Hey, I just purchased an s100 with the intent of using CHDK along with it. I bought a 64gb sdxc card to go with it and have CHDK installed on it using the boot method which is the only way for my camera. The only problem is I have to press the power on average 5-7 times to get my camera to even turn on, but it will start eventually and boot into CHDK. It turns on fine every time when I unlock my memory card but then I can't use CHDK. I've tried the stable and beta releases and they were the same.

Any insight is appreciated, I can still use this awesome tool but it doesn't make it practical to use all the time if I can't start my camera up right away. Thanks!

The same thing happens, it takes multiple presses till it finally starts up.

This used to be a problem on some camera as the SD card filled up with pictures.

It was fixed with

#define CAM_STARTUP_CRASH_FILE_OPEN_FIX 1

I checked and the S100 has that fix so its probably something else.

My card is new and empty. Ah well thanks for the help anyways, I am loving chdk besides this issue!

On the off chance it's related to your 64gb sdxc card, do you have a smaller standard SD card ( 1G, 2G or 4G) you could try and see if you still have the problem ?

If you can get a crash log http://chdk.wikia.com/wiki/Debugging#Camera_crash_logs_.28romlog.29 that will at least tell us if it is the same issue.
Don't forget what the H stands for.

I know this is an old thread, but I just went through a lot of work to get a 64gb SDXC card to work with a 101b version S100.  Here are some tips:

Swissknife does not do a good job of formating to fat32; FAT32 format works much better (and took about 1h 20 min for my card, but my card might have had issues) (FAT32 format would get to about 30% and then the percentage would start over, but the time would still tick down continuous from the starting time, very odd...)

If, after you go through all the steps at http://chdk.wikia.com/wiki/Bootable_SD_card (Method 2 listed there, because my camera has no firmware upgrade in the menu) and the camera pauses upon a long power on push (like it should), but still says card is locked, use EOScard again to make the card un-bootable, then make it bootable again.

Hope that helps someone.
Steve
