boot crash with many raw files

I recently found a strange problem when using CHDK with my Ixus90 (SD790). Starting with no images stored on my SD card I turned on "Save Raw" and took a lot of Raw images. After having about 65 Raw and Jpeg images on the card CHDK didn't boot any more. The camera just turns off during the boot process.
Deleting the Raw images from the 100CANON folder makes CHDK boot again. I experimented a bit and found out that the problem also occurs if I replace the Raw files in the 100CANON folder with some other big files (e.g. some mpeg videos). I also found out that the problem disappears when I delete all the Jpeg images (stored in another 1??CANON folder).
I actually don't know if this problem is specific to my camera model or not. Has anybody had a similar problem? Any ideas how to fix this? BTW, I managed to get a romlog (see attachment), but I don't know how to interpret this.

Maybe this issue ?
This used to be a problem on some camera as the SD card filled up with pictures.

It was fixed with

#define CAM_STARTUP_CRASH_FILE_OPEN_FIX 1

#define CAM_STARTUP_CRASH_FILE_OPEN_FIX 1

The ixus90_sd790 does not have that fix enabled.  If you tell us what firmware version you have we can make a test build and you can see if that fixes it for you.

I have firmware 1.00D. Please make a test build for me, I will test it as soon as possible.

Great, problem solved  :)
I tested the build today with lots of images, didn't see any crash.
Thank you very much!
BTW, can this fix have any negative side effects? Anything I should test? (I'm just wondering why it wasn't activated by default.)

None that I know of.

No - but thanks for offering.

Probably because the fix came out long after the SD970 port was released.  There is no formal process to update camera specific code for older cameras for any bug fix unless somebody with that camera notices something and is willing to test it.

Update : added to the autobuild today - should be available tomorrow after the overnight build.
