bad pixels on Ixus 860

Hell,

I notice a few always white pixels in the JPGs of my Ixus 860 so I was looking for info on fixing that somewhat.
All the  downloads for scripts and programs to generate a badpixel file give a 404 and threads about this topic are a few years old.
Badpixel.bin generation from the RAW menu doesn't work on build 2174 (file not found for a lua script?).

So how can I make this work?

I went into the chdk menu, RAW department, chose the create badpixel.bin option and then there's message:

Fail to load: load _dng.flt: file not found

I see that _dng.flt file is in the MODULES directory of the full chdk download.
Where should it be in the chdk partition on the SD-card?

If you are using dual partitions,  you need to put everything on the large partition except two files.  The two executable files - DISKBOOT.BIN and PS.FI2  (or PS.FIR on older camera) -  belong on the smaller bootable partition.   Note that the combined size of these two files defines the minimum required size of that partition.

(You can leave the two executable files on the larger partition without problem if you forget to delete them as long as they are also on the  smaller partition.)

But the few pixels I actually see are still white when I take a pic (JPG) after creating the badpixel.bin.
What is wrong?

CHDK does not do anything to the JPG files.   Those are created by the cameras DSP chip,  which CHDK does not have access to. It uses its own bad pixel file,  which AFAIK is shipped with the camera.

The CHDK badpixel.bin file is used to correct pixels in the DNG files that CHDK creates.

I'll confess to getting confused by the bad pixel and dark frame options.  Reading that link (its really old) caused me to remember other conversations about this.   At some point today,  hopefully reyalp, philmoz or msl will weigh in with the real answer.
