Firm Update option missing form menu

I have a 300 elph hs with version 101g. When I go to the menu screen, after having placing CHDK files to my memory car, the "Firm Update" option in my menu is missing. The last option that I get is "Transitions" and underneath it should be the firm update. So I can't boot from the memory card. Any suggestions would be appreciated? Thanks

Did you follow every step in these instructions precisely as written :

Yeah, I did everything exactly as written. I used Acid to determine which version I had, it said 101g. Maybe that is incorrect. The camera isn't reading what is written on the SD card.

Okay - as the wiki page does not say that firmware update does not work for this camera then we can assume that a lot of other people have it working.

So that means either your camera is borked or you are not quite following the right steps.  If ACID is wrong,  it would be the first time.

Are using an Apple Mac ?  http://chdk.wikia.com/wiki/FAQ/Mac#Still_Having_Trouble.3F

Otherwise,  the common things people trip on are :

1) You have to start the camera with the "play" button - not the on/off switch.

2) Go to the menus right away.

3) Ensure that there is a ps.fi2 file in the root directory of your SD card.

Have you done all that ?
