I have an A590IS.  The wiki for DNG4PS  http://code.google.com/p/dng4ps2/ lists my camera as one that is supported, yet the settings windows does not have my camera in the dropdown window.  (It's and 8mpx camera).   How do people handle this?

Well...that makes sense.  I noticed in my A590 that DNG takes up an extra 2-3 seconds to process and write.  So, I thought I would try to bypass that.  Maybe it's not too much of an inconvenience after all.   I guess that I'm just trying to figure out what is the best of the various software and configuration options out there that will allow me to enable raw with an efficient workflow.

No...I did not try the Beta.  I will do so and see what happens.  Just yesterday, I realized that DNG4PS development had ceased.  So I guess the Beta is as good as it's going to get.   I will try that out.  Thank you, blackhole, for the heads up.

If you enabled "raw buffer cached" it should only take half a second or so longer than CHDK raw.

Aside, we should really make that the default...
Don't forget what the H stands for.

I enabled the cache - it did cut the processing time down by half.  A really useful feature.
