building chdk on a powerpc (ppc) mac

hi,

anyone every successfully built chdk on a powerpc (ppc)
mac using os-x? i tried it and ran into several problems.
first finsig seems to have endian problems (ppc is bigendian
in contradiction to intel being littleendian), because it will
not find anything in the PRIMARY.BIN. putting the
stubs_entry.S from the sources in place and removing the
PRIMARY.BIN i'll get chdk compliled fine, but the resulting
binaries do not work (built on an intel pc from the same
sources under windows they're fine) - i get an update file error
when trying to enable chdk on the camera (via menu firm-
ware update) ... the gcc toochain i used for this is from

  http://www.mikrocontroller.net/articles/ARM_GCC_toolchain_for_Linux_and_Mac_OS_X

any ideas or experiences with this topic and about how to
get those issues fixed, so that chdk can also be built on
a ppc mac?

a lot of thanks in advance and best wishes - image13

The only experience I have, is that the same toolchain works fine on an Intel Mac under OS X 10.4, but that won't help you much, of course.
Good Luck

Seems you need to make pakwif.c endian-independent at least.
