Any other files I should attach for analysis?
After the camera crashes, try saving the "romlog" as follows.
Restart the camera
From the CHDK miscellaneous menu, choose "debug parameters"
Choose save "rom crash log"
Post the file, "romlog.log" from the SD card root directory.

I attached the DiskBoot.bin file as it is currently on the SD card.
Not corrupted, it's from the build provided by yukia10.
The original build had a bug in the raw buffer address function that philmoz fixed. The fix is in the 100c build I posted here:

@gestatin  Did you try installing this build on top of the original yukia10 build? It includes a new diskboot.bin. You also have install all the new modules, that is all the files in the zip.

The way I do it, with Windows 7, is to double click on the zip file, press control+a control+c, then go to the root directory of the SD and press control+v. That pastes all the files into the right place. You have to say you want to replace all files twice.

srsa_4c and @lapser,

Thanks for your help on this.  I attached a ROMLOG to this post. Perhaps it will help you out.

Also, a note and a thought.  I did indeed enable zebra last night to play with it a bit (good catch, srsa_4c).  I disabled Zebra just now and no crash... As a test I re-enabled it and got red pixles all over the screen but no crash this time...  For now I'll leave Zebra off.

@lapser:  I am using the Yukia10 build.  I'll download and install the newest version that you just posted and go from there.

Thanks again, you guys.  Hope the ROMLOG helps.

@lapser:  Just installed the build updates you linked above.  Random red pixels when in Zebra mode are still present, but lessened.  No crash.

Does CDHK "flicker" for anyone else when displaying menus or when displaying info in shooting mode?

Yes, the "flicker" is "normal". The camera keeps writing over the CHDK text and CHDK keeps re-drawing it.

It sounds like the zebra mode thing is a separate problem that still needs fixing.

The romlog shows an out of memory situation. Somebody will need to find out the exmem parameters to use.
I also can't find a firmware dump for 1.00c. Could you make one?

@lapser: platform/sx50hs/sub/100[b|c]/makefile.inc, EXMEM_BUFFER_SIZE and EXMEM_HEAP_SKIP are commented out, probably for a good reason. Can you help with this?

Still One Click and CrAsH .
OK, I finally figured out where the problem is. I installed your files on a new SD card. I had to delete both CFG files to get to CHDK, for some reason. But it did crash in Burst mode like you describe. But I was able to stop the crashing by turning dark frame subtraction off, which is the way I have it set normally. Here's how you do it:

From the CHDK main menu, choose "RAW", and then set "Dark Frame Subtraction" to "OFF". That fixes the crash in high speed burst mode.

=======
However, I don't have the problem on my camera now even with dark frame subtraction AUTO or OFF.  I did a new build with nafraf's patch included, and installed it over your files, and it works now with dark frame subtraction AUTO or ON.

So nafraf corrected the problem (thanks!), but it appears his build didn't have the patch included. Try installing the attached build on top of your current files and see if that works.

:-[  Wrong file attachment

Well, this patch for 100b and 100c includes:
 *  the previous capt_seq.c patch to fix call to wait_until_remote_button_is_released
 * EXMEM_BUFFER_SIZE and EXMEM_HEAP_SKIP
 * Implementation of void *vid_get_viewport_fb() void *vid_get_viewport_live_fb() as done in g12.

I'll post compiled version later.

@lapser, could you test zebra?
