hey people ...
here's what i did
1. 2gb card formatted
2. copied files .. ver.req DISKBOOT.BIN and PS.FIR ..   into root dir 
3. went into playback mode and when i hit FUNC/SET + DISP
   i get
CANNON DIGITAL IXUS 75
P-ID:314E          PAL V
FIRM VER GM1.01B
NO ERROR
i went through all the playback menu options no "Firmware update" option
what does it mean ..???

1. You switch on in playback mode.
2. Then press Menu.
3. Press the up key. [Firmware update] OK.
4. Camera restarts.
5. Press Print button [you get ALT on the bottom of the screen]
6. Then press Display to get the main menu.
From there crash your camera. :)

I don't think there is a 1.01B release, but I have heard that the 1.01A will work with it. Since the 1.01A isn't made specifically for 1.01B it may not work though.

Isn't that just a fantastic feeling!?

Unfortunately that's all you're able to do right now, unless you've got a bleeding passion to play Sokoban.

Bleeding... passion... eww. Is it "burning passion"? That's not much better, really.

Okay, on topic now:

I'm still working on this when I can (limited to a few minutes per night). Since I can't find any bugs on the surface I've resorted to verifying/pattern matching each line of code with the 1.01a. As you might imagine this is hair-rippingly tedious. For the time being this seems like the only solution. If only that damn camera log thingy worked.

IN THE MEAN TIME

Has anyone thought to test video recording yet?

Naw dude I am really stoked and playing around with all the new features.  It makes it fun and I am really stoked on the work folks have done for this model and all the others.
Huge supporter of linux and stuff like this.

I have no clue how to play those games on there, but just that they are on there is cool.

Took me a bit to know to hit the disp button, but now it boots into CHDK every time and I am loving the tools.

Thanks once again to this community and those working on this specific model.

If anyone needs to host files please contact me and I will set you up with some server space.  I have hosted some linux repos in the past and it works good.

Was the first thing I did... I tried to enable optical zoom, but CHDK crashed when I tried to exit the menu. With CHDK loaded but no settings changed, yes, video works.

vids work fine for me as well.

I am not too aware of the cool things that can be done in vid mode.  Anything I should test?

Hey TPC,

Thanks for the great work.
Maybe a silly question but:
Yesterday, I installed the software on my Ixus75 (1.02a firmware).
I got it to boot manually but I can't get the camera to shoot stuff once I altered the settings (save RAW).
When I press the shutter I get 'Install Default script' and when I try to get out of ALT mode, My display turns blanc?

What am I doing wrong here?
