I have a IXUS 240 HS 100c and the CHDK CHDK-Ixus240_PreAlphaTest-100c-1.3.3260.3.zip from H_H just doesn't boot.
Please make a firmware dump: http://chdk.wikia.com/wiki/Canon_Basic/Scripts/Dumper
H_H hasn't published neither the 100c dump, nor his source...
Hey,
Thx. It works now after reformatting the 2 GB SD Card. I used the version that he uploaded to this forum earlier.
Great!  Will you now help us out and dump the firmware using the link srsa_4c posted ?

Interval script doesn' work though. No pictures are being shot. The problem seems to be that the camera doesn't start in shoot mode but in play mode. When I hit the play button nothing happens.
Starting in play mode is normal in CHDK.  If a simple interval script does not work then the port is not very far along.
Ported :   A1200    SD940   G10    Powershot N    G16

Hm, I have never dumped a firmware before. What would the difference be to the posting that H_H has made? I could try.

My IXUS 75 started in shoot mode in CHDK.
Not even the shoot.bas works on the 240. It starts and exects the lens but when trying to shot (or save) the pictures i freezes.

My IXUS 75 started in shoot mode in CHDK.
Cameras with a physical play / rec switch distinct from the power button start in the correct mode. This generally applies to older, digic II - digic III era cameras.

Most modern cameras have a play button and a power button. These generally start in play mode, unless you hold the power button for a bit longer than usual.

Looking at the picture on the wiki,  ixus 75 looks like it should be the newer style, but it's one of the earliest to use this layout. Does it start in record mode even if you power it on with the play button?

Are you switching to record mode before starting the script?
What shooting mode are you trying to use?
Do you have raw enabled?
Don't forget what the H stands for.

Thank you for your help!

The IXUS 75 has a hardware switch between record mode and play mode. So on that cam, I can decide in which mode I wish to start.

The IXUS 240 HS no hardware switch to choose between record and play mode. Without CHDK it always starts in record mode. If I want to switch to play mode I hit the play button.
WITH CHDK it starts in play mode. If I hit the play button, it just turns off.
If I hit the shuttor button, it goes to record mode and makes a picture(you can hear the sound) but my guess it, that it can't save the picture to locked SD Card and that's the reason while the camera freezes.
I try to use the normal shooting mode and have normal JPG compression set with highest the highest detail setting.
Thank you for any ideas on this.

I have recently done a "Blind Port" for ixus 240HS firmware 100d. Will post it Soon.

Also have found and fixed ??? some of the porting errors for ixus 240HS firmware 100c, 100d. 101a, & 102a. More details soon.

Attached File:- ArmU's + 240-100d-Dump vs 100c #1.png

Shows that either Wi-Fi ??? data overwrites CHDK or vice versa.

I now have another Ixus 240-100c (#6), that is brand new, and with a brand new SD card, which has
the same problem ???.

I have just dumped Ixus 240-100c (#6),  More details soon.

Current Porting Progress for the Ixus 240's, A Further UpDate.

I now have 100c, 101a, 102a [8 Cameras]

A 100d has turned up, a some days ago.

The front of the 240-1xxx mechanicaly and opticaly is very similar to Ixus 125
The rear touch screen of the 240-1xxx  is similar to Ixus 310
The Wi-Fi is similar to Ixus 140 but also has a number of differences.
The Movie Mode is only very basic and crashes the camera.

My Porting aproach was to build a custom version, with code taken  from the closest relative camera,
if there were any errors/problems.

An Example; The  Touch Screen Offset Error, is fixed by some of the Ixus 310 code.

Good [All Versions]:-
* Compiles, Boots, Runs, Problems,.
* Extra Modes in Mode Map, that work.

Bad [All Versions]:-
* Run Problems, Wi-Fi problems, Crashes.
* For Me the Fir2 dosen't compile.
* A Tempory hold on my porting of the Ixus 240's.
* Lots more testing is required

100d :-
* Behaves similar to the other versions.
* Fir2 not available to make SD card bootable. [ I used my Ixus 115 to do this step]

Could you test and report? http://chdk.wikia.com/wiki/Testing

@afishindouban, I'll send you a binary version for your camera, please test it and report.

Hi all,

Attached is full - PreAlpha - but PART_TESTED version for:-

 Ixus240-100d-1.3314.0-full.PreAlpha.zip

You will need to make SD Card bootable, I used a Ixus 115 to
do this before putting Ixus240-100d-1.3314.0-full.PreAlpha onto the SD Card.

Edit #0 ...240-100c old version is here
 http://chdk.setepontos.com/index.php?action=dlattach;topic=9005.0;attach=9341

Edit #1 ...  240-100c .... Ixus240-100c-1.3314.0-full.PreAlpha.zip ... Boots but then crashes.

Edit #2 ....240-100d ... Ixus240-100c-1.3314.0-full.PreAlpha....Boots and runs.

Edit #3 This version, Provided by nafraf,  "...Try 101a for IXUS240 HS 100d".
http://chdk.setepontos.com/index.php?topic=11112.msg109164#msg109164
240-100d ... Boots as a "240-101a" and runs Ok, CHDK, misc, Version reports as a "240-101a".

Edit #4 ... \platform\ixus240_elph320hs\sub\100d\bin_compat.h was changed to "GM1.00D" ???

This is a TEST version only;
