Change ALT mode to enable only on long-press?

Just trying the new build on my sd870 and see that the print button is used to activate ALT mode. I've previously assigned the print button to start video recording and I know that if I long-press the print button, it will record video instead of go into ALT mode. But can I reverse the behavior and have a short-press do the original function and have a long-press go into ALT mode?

I know people want quick access to ALT mode to run some special scripts, but I mainly use CHDK for less interactive benefits. It is especially important if I hand my camera to someone else and I don't want them to accidentally go into ALT mode, wondering why the original function didn't run.

Most likely I'm in the minority here so if someone can please point out where in the source code I can make this change, that would be great!

Thanks.

Unfortunately, no. At least now. Because CHDK hooks and suppresses the actual click of the ALT button and:
1) uses it to enter to ALT mode in case of short click;
2) emulates short click to allow the original firmware to catch this "click" and acts as usual.

But, theoretically, it is possible to implement a way like you requested (but there still will be some delays on key pressings).
