Does/can CHDK change the standard options menus on a camera?

[*first post, Hello world!]

Specifically, I would like to know if the CHDK can allow me to fix this problem with the Powershot S100:

Along with its predecessors, the S100 has a control ring on the front, allowing you to choose its functionality. BUT only certain functionalities are allowed in the menu. For example, I would like to control exposure with the back dial and zoom with the front dial, and that is not a combination listed in the options. Can CHDK help me add options to the list?

The inner workings of the Canon firmware are VERY poorly understood and even that took a tremendous amount of work by people who had the requisite skills.

To do what you would like would require a far deeper understanding.

Quite simply, it will never happen.

On the other hand you I believe you could program these two dials by CHDK, maybe even by script. But you'd need to operate the camera by the CHDK interface not directly by Canon one. However I don't know this particular camera and have no idea whether CHDK has access to these two dials.

Note that CHDK for this camera is still in very early stage (according to the info on CHDK wiki).
