reyalp "I guess you talking about a CHDK PTP client, not CHDK?"  Correct, I misspoke should have said have any
CHDK Remote Capture apps been ported to DOS.
No, and it highly unlikely anyone ever will.

To date have seen mention of ptpcam chdkptp and ptpCamGUI.

Any actual experience using these 3 CHDK Remote Capture apps on any OS.
I am the developer of chdkptp if that counts  :-[

reyalp,

"I am the developer of chdkptp if that counts"  Sure Does!!!  Thanks for making chdkptp!!!

Questions:

What Linux distro do you use with chdkptp?

Are you continuing to develop chdkptp?  If yes is there an ~ time frame for the next release?

windows is the primary development platform. I also make builds and test on ubuntu and raspbian.

Yes, although I am currently very busy with real work, so am not doing much with chdk or chdkptp.

No, there is absolutely no schedule. I release "snapshot" builds when significant features are completed or bugs fixed.

Eventually, there may be an actual formal release.

If it matters,  chdkptp also builds and runs just fine on Fedora.

http://web.archive.org/web/20100903144402/http://rayer.ic.cz/hardware/a70.htm (Czech, but the pictures tell the story) This pre-dates CHDK of course.

I moved my site to http://rayer.g6.cz/hardware/a70.htm. All old DOS software for PowerShots are still and will be there :) Don't expect CHDK will be ported to this old cams, it's absolute different system than newer powershots and it's abandoned. I still use my old A95 beside EOS 350D and it can take better shots than modern 12MP tiny CCD compacts :) But recently I saw sometimes some weak horizontal moving stripes, maybe CCD is dying again...

I also like the old Canon A cameras!!!

Did you ever have the CCD replaced under the Canon recall

Yes I did some years ago but I heard that they run out of the CCD replacements...
It doesn't appear very often but it may get worse...
