I went ahead and updated to firmware 1.0.2.0

I used STICK and it identified it as firmware 102b and CHDK is running well now.  :)

Thanks

I was interested in the entry 'FreeFall' from 'GetCameraInformationData'.

My S110 has fallen once from 1m on the floor. I just read it. The S110 has much less information than the M3. Is also older ... but also she has the entry 'FreeFall'. But the value is 0. The camera was however switched off at the fall ...

I see that 102B is still beta in the nightly builds, is there something untested for that version? because as far as I can see it works like a charm.

There is an official Canon Firmware 103a that you can download. For me there is no reason why I should take an older firmware...

I went ahead and updated to firmware 1.0.2.0

Downloaded the file you mentioned earlyer, but that seems to contain 102 as TechGus mentioned. So I have not tried that.
Also because I am not really fond of flashing old hardware unless there is something wrong with the current version.
I've had too much dead hardware over the years to update because it is there.

and as far as I can tell 102B seems to work...only took me a few moments to find that the uneven numbers are the wifi led and the even numbers the AF led while setting up a script.

For me that was enough for the update...

although it is recognised by stick as 102B and sits in the right serial range (4 at position 6) to update
my cam already has version 1.0.2.0 as firmware, making it not possible to update.
it does run the CHDK build for 102B.
I do not experience any problems with setting the focal length (yet)

It doesn't mean much, mostly no one bothered to remove the label. The other S110 subs are "alpha"

I think if you and c_joerg have used this port extensively without problems, we can take the alpha/beta labels off.
Don't forget what the H stands for.
