Aperture 2.7 override at full zoom - canon sx40

Will the aperture 2.7 override work at full zoom?  I've tried it here inside the house real quick and am not seeing a noticeable difference when I hold the shutter speed constant.  I definitely see differences at the upper end of the aperture.  I stopped seeing difference at apertures below around f/5 or so.

No - maximum aperture is f/5.8 at 150.5mm zoom.

Phil.

Thanks again Phil.  So what's the point of the override on the lower aperture if it can't go beyond the range of the original firmware?  I must be missing something.

Well, it would complicate the code.
Some cameras have over 100 hundred aperture values that change as you zoom.

CHDK would need to know all those values and dynamically force the menu to only allow higher values at a particular zoom setting.
