I am a newbie to chdk  and was wondering if you can also use an SDHC card to install chdk  and what size disks  can you use? Thanks.

With the exception of some older cameras, you can use an SDHC card.  Simple test - if your camera works normally with the card then CHDK will too.   And CHDK will use any size card you want although pre-2011 cameras need to be dual partitioned if you want to autoboot.
