One touch focus when in manual focus mode

Hello:

Is it possible to implement a one touch focus when in manual mode.
Function in script is even better.

The usage will be as follow:
0. Camera in manual focus mode
1. Point camera to a specific object
2. Press button to focus to a specific point.
3. Do other activities before shooting

This will help in pre-focusing for time lapse or motion detection.

This help unlink the focus point and the exposure point.
Today half press function will lock both focus and exposure on the same point.
Same action can be done by setting auto focus on. Half press then set to manual focus though - Just feel lazy.

Yes.

Its possible to enable and disable focus lock from a script, to do a "half-press" to set the focus, and to determine if the focus is okay.

The actual focus point will be up to the settings on the camera itself.

Making a easy & usable UI to control this is not so simple, so it will take a bit more work but is possible too.

I did a test script awhile back that starts by setting focus and exposure separately, like you describe. Try running the HalfTest.lua script attached to this post:
