Trouble with Raw files (Canon sx240hs)

Dear readers,I just downloaded the CDHK software for Canon Powershot SX240HS. After creating the bad pixel bin and selecting the DNG format, I tried to take a few test shots in the DNG raw. Then I copy the photos into the computer and tried opening them up, All I get is pink screen. (kindly see attached attachment)
.  Can anyone tell me what is wrong with it? I tried to open them with a few other programs like photoline , but the results are the same. Are raw files supposed to look like that? I am new to Raw photograpghy.

Nothing seem to work.

You probably need to read through this post and the links attached to it.

link> Questions about RAW ?

If you're pressed for time,  just enable DNG in the RAW menu and work with DNG images rather than RAW.

Update :  please post the actual image from the camera.  Many of us do not use Windows products and cannot easily open a .docx file

Are you shooting in auto mode by any chance? The SX240 and SX260 have a known issue which causes raw not to work in auto.
Don't forget what the H stands for.

Thanks.

Yes, you are right. I have used Auto mode earlier and it did not work out. But when I tried to use it in manual mode yesterday, it works perfectly fine. Thanks. :D :D

I've added a note to the SX240 & SX260 wiki pages...

Does the Aperture and shuTter priority modes generate proper RAW/DNG files, or do I have to run it in full manual?

I am curious since I am contemplating buying a sx240. An alternative would be to go for the older sx220, which does not have this bug, right? However, buying such an old camera seems not appealing, especially since Canon has upgraded both the optics and the image processor.

Any mode except the "auto" mode should work (except possibly some reduced resolution low light / fast modes)
