Faster Write Speeds with New Format?

A friend knows the burst speed on my A570IS is slow so recently mentioned a new format that will increase Write Speed.

I did a quick forum search to check if anyone had mentioned this but did not find anything.

The thread info and link is "RMPrepUSB - faster FAT32 write access on Flash memory drives"
http://reboot.pro/topic/16783-rmprepusb-faster-fat32-write-access-on-flash-memory-drives/

Additional info is found at "RMPrepUSB - Home Page"
http://www.rmprepusb.com/home

Would be nice if something like this would work!

Thanks

Gene

So did you try it?

This page https://wiki.linaro.org/WorkingGroups/KernelArchived/Projects/FlashCardSurvey may explain some of the underlying issues.

It's worth noting the CHDK multi-partition cards would *not* be the normal situation expected by the SD cards  controllers. If you do use multi-partition, making sure the second partition starts at an allocation unit boundary may be worthwhile.

This is certainly an area that would benefit from some careful testing if someone wanted to do spend the time doing it.
Don't forget what the H stands for.

reyalp,

"So did you try it?" No,  wanted to wait until some more tech individuals said it works.

"If you do use multi-partition, making sure the second partition starts at an allocation unit boundary may be worthwhile."  Just use entire card.

"This is certainly an area that would benefit from some careful testing if someone wanted to do spend the time doing it."  Agree
