If you have write protected the card in order to make it boot, you will need to switch the write protection back off when attempting to access the card from the PC, otherwise ... you wont be able to write to it..  ;)

Hello ahull, thanks for your QR.  Yes i did the SD card bootable and I lock it.  In order to place the script in I unlocked it but I guess you are talking about something else.
The CHDK folder in the SD is read only and it looks like I can not change it or I do not know how to do it.
Do youu know how?

I guess you're using Windows. If you right-click on the CHDK folder and examine its properties you should be able to untick the read-only property.

Hi zeno,

yes I am using W7 and everytime I go to the CHDK folder and untick the read only and apply, when I am going in to paste the script I can not do it as  the read only tick is back on. Even if I go back and goin to the script folder it is doing the same and I do not know how to get around the trick.

thanks for the assistance

I have seen a similar issue using Windows, I got fed up trying to figure it out and reformatted the card in the camera, not the windows box, and re-installed CHDK. After that it worked.

I am pretty feed up with it right now. I have try it all, I think!

I have formated the SD in windows and in the camera, no different. Also I tried with only CHDK, no making the card bootable and still the same.

It must be something silly but I do not know. I will post it if I find out as I think it will be easier for someone that need to paste or write a new scriptin it.

Hi all,

I can see that in the CHDK/SCRIPT folder there are 3 folders: Editor, Exam, Text and some lua. and bas. with a read me text doc.

Is there a place where I should write/paste the new Script instructions that I have got from VP-System camremote as text?

Of course if I just open the Script folder and try to paste the new script in, it will not happen unless I open a text doc, or similar.
Maybe the place is the existing read me text doc. in the script folder!

Anybody know? Please let me know, I will appreciate it very much
all the best

Each script should be a separate text file in the CHDK/SCRIPT folder (or in a subfolder of CHDK/SCRIPT). It should either named something like xxx.bas  (if it's written in uBasic) or xxx.lua (if it's written in lua). I'm pretty sure all the scripts for camremote are written in ubasic.

You can just load/copy a script into NotePad and then save it as a text file called xxx.bas in the CHDK/SCRIPT file (where 'xxx' is some name that relates to the function of the script).

Hi Zeno,

yes youa are right. Problem solved!

I have save the camremote script in the CHDK/SCRIPT folder as camremote.bas no problem. I was just trying to copy as text.

No I guess the next will be to point these new script on the CHDK menu together with the remote control option.

Thanks for your help
