I also notice purple fringing on my Canon A570.  I was taking pictures of a storm on night.

Exp.  ~30s
ISO.  200

A small to medium patch of purple.  Interestingly, it is only apparent in the RAW file, not the JPG.

Issue with NR off on A630

Hi! I've been using the shutter override option to do a 50 seconds exposure. And I noticed something strange in my pictures.
On the upper right corner, there is a blue cast "light" visible. I tried to reproduce the problem, and the problem is still visible. Then, I tried to turn the noise reduction on, and the problem disapeared!
Strange thing... anyone else noticed? And how could it be explained?
I post here two pictures, the first was taken with a cap on the lens and the NR turned off, the second one was taken with the nr turned on. I brightened both pictures in order to see the problem better.

Seems, yes. At least many cameras with different sensors have the same issue.

Essentially, what you got was the dark frame the camera uses to perform NR :)
