I am sorry but I am not very tech savy, in fact I really don't know much at all but am trying to learn. What exactly does that all mean? Is that like the very early stages of developing the CHDK for the s110? And will it be easier since it is a lot like the s100

You have it basically correct.  Porting has started on the S110 but is not complete.  H0wever,  even if cameras look physically alike, the fact that a model is already ported does not help much with another model unless they were released on the same date.  And that helps a little,  not a lot.  Each port has to be put together piece by piece for each individual camera.   Its easier now than a couple of years ago due to there being better tools.  The advice below still stands.
