SX130... Which of these 3 versions?

I have been watching the tutorial video by Richard Smrt that shows him installing CHDK to a SX130 IS and noticed that when he chooses the version to download from this list that he chooses version 1.01C.  Also while he is choosing this version he mentions that he is choosing the "latest" version for his SX130
Here is my question: Why does he choose the 1.01c instead of either 1.01d or 1.01f.  Wouldn't 1.01c be the OLDEST of the three?  I tried to post a portion of the chart but the formatting gave me a problem.  Here is a link to the table.

Bill, you don't 'choose' which version of CHDK to install - you have to install the one which matches the firmware in your camera. If your camera firmware is 1.01c then the only CHDK version which will work in it is 1.01c.

Youtube videos are fun to watch and instructional,  but you might find this CHDK wiki page a little more accurate when you actually want to get things done :  http://chdk.wikia.com/wiki/Prepare_your_SD_card

Thanks guys... I just got the camera and updated the firmware post haste.  I don't remember the update version having a letter suffix but I'll research that a little further.  I'll also be taking a look at link supplied by waterwingz.  I've been reading up on CHDK for days now and I do remember that the firmware needs to be updated on some of the old cameras that have a "0" as the sixth number in the serial # but mine did not have the 0.  I updated the firmware anyway.  I will do as much research as possible and will try not to bother you guys with silly questions... but no guarantees.  lol.

I protocolled 100b(basic FW) lead to 101c.
i also have 101f but i didnt protocoll which basic FW it had or if i ever had to update.
have now 100a which i can/must update.
Does anybody know to which FW it will lead? Thanks
i am using my 101c(3x) and 101f (2x) for Stereodatamaker-twin-shootings. as you can see i need a replacement for the two 101f.

I don't understand the question. What do you mean by "protocolled" ?

In any case, the basic facts:

* You must use the CHDK version that matches your Canon firmware.
* You cannot update the Canon firmware unless Canon provides an official firmware update.
* The differences between Canon firmware versions where no update is offered are usually trivial, so there should be no problem using two cameras with different firmware. However, you do need to use the right SD card in each camera.
Don't forget what the H stands for.

Maybe better i had not entered here....
my "problem" was not CHDK-installation but Canon-update. Its discussed elsewhere and the situation is clear.
100A will lead to 1.01C also. since 101d and 101f are already installed in the factory.
assist(installation tool of SDM) told that no 100a-version is existing. stick(chdsk-installation-tool) will certainly respond the same. if cams SN has 0(zero) at 6th position from left(meaning updatable) and there is a dot in battery-lid then update is already done in factory.
