I am also new here, but I noticed that CHDK is only for Canon.
Indeed, CHDK is only for Canon P&S. This isn't because we are all rabid Canon fans though, it's just a practical reality: CHDK code is very specific to Canon P&S firmware. We welcome people who want to work on other cameras. That's why we have this "Non-CANON cameras development" section on the forum.
CHDK is the result of many thousands of hours of skilled programmers effort over the last 6+ years. Starting a similar project on a different platform will require similar investment. Once something is working, it becomes easier for people improve it incrementally with smaller contributions, but the effort and skill required for the initial steps is very high.
So if you want to see something useful here... start hacking
