Bracketing question

Greetings!! Newbie here (after reading the whole manual  :) )
I have installed CHDK on my Powershot SX230HS mainly to use RAW and bracketing (for HDR).
Concerning bracketing: I would like to take 5 photos when I press the shutter button once (0EV, +/-1EV, +/-2EV). But I don't know how to set up this. The manual only tells me that the machine will keep on bracketing until I release the shutter button.
My bridge camera (a Fuji) does exactly what I want, but only 3 images (0EV, +/-1EV), but I needed 5 images, and no more than 5.
Help!  :'(
Many thanks, cheers.
Mário

This might help :
http://chdk.wikia.com/wiki/UBASIC/Scripts:_Make_ANY_Single-Shot_Intervalometer_into_an_HDR-Bracketing_Script
http://www.andrewhazelden.com/blog/2011/01/bracketing-with-chdk-in-continuous-mode/

Or you could fairly quickly modify the simple bracketing script included with CHDK  (hdr.bas or hdr.lua) to do that.  If you need some help with that let me know.

Otherwise, this is a partial list of some of the bracketing / HDR scripts available :  http://chdk.wikia.com/wiki/UBASIC/Scripts#Bracketing

Some are better than others and not all work on every camera.    Remeber that one of the joys of using CHDK is discovering new things.

Update :  after scanning through the scripts on that list,  I realized that they are all pretty much obsolete.  In particular, the use of button clicks and hard coded propcase numbers makes them specific to individual camera.  I guess it about time to product an up-to-date universal bracketing script (unless someone can post a link to where its already been done that is).

Hi! This is the one I use. I disabled the af lock, so you have to set it before using the script (to make it faster). There's two options (Timer and 5_Fotos) 0 disabled, 1 enabled. Try it and let me know if this was what you were looking for..

This is a good start.   I'm thinking we should take it a little farther.  In particular :

1) User able to set the step size & number of steps
2) Tv, Av and ISO bracketing available
3) Focus bracketing
4) Optional AF lock
5) Half press locked with each shot using only a full press for speed ( i.e. not shoot()  )
6) HDR bracketing ( i.e. Ev variable) vs Exposure bracketing ( i.e. Ev fixed)

Something a bit like this :  http://chdk.setepontos.com/index.php?topic=8147

Update :  I forgot about this one : http://chdk.wikia.com/wiki/HDR_Fast_Shooter

Thanks a lot, fellows.
I will now start trying your hints. Remember, I am a rookie freshly arrived to CHDK, don't even know how to edit / execute a script  ;) . However, I have 45-year experience in photography and 30 years in computing (back to the ZX-81). So, I think I can handle it.  8)
Meawhile, please kindly keep on contributing to this post and improving on the subject, any help is welcome.
Cheers,
Mário
