Experience and Recommendations for CHDK Video Cameras?

Have been very impressed with CHDK on my A700.

Some friends and I want to start taking videos with CHDK cameras.  Initially we are looking only to upload to the Internet.

Since we have no experience making videos, would be interested in others experience and recommendations as to what CHDK cameras are best for video.

Thanks

Gene

Not sure about "best" but I will warn you to experiment a bit right away so you understand what changing the quality settings actually does.   Several people have reported getting low res pixelated videos because they inadvertently set the quality level too low.

And what's your price range? At a certain point, you're probably better off with an entry level DSLR with Magic Lantern and an inexpensive prime lens.

waterwingz, Thanks for the quality tip.

Davo, "What kind of videos are you going to make?" probably very short ones just to get some experience
but they will most likely be outdoors available light so cameras with good low light ability would be an advantage.

MKR, "...what's your price range? At a certain point, you're probably better off with an entry level DSLR with Magic Lantern and an inexpensive prime lens."  At this point the lower the price the better.

What is the ~ price of an entry level DSLR?  Also can you really notice the difference if you are only making small internet videos?

Thanks everyone for your comments.

I have been VERY impressed with the video features on my A810. It is the cheapest Canon but it can record 720p HD (1280x720x25) or SD (640x480x30). I am using it to write a script that will automayically record birds on a feeder outside. Here is my first test on a very dark wintry day and the exposure level is still OK.

Not a valid vimeo URL
It also has a candlelight setting for really low light but I haven't tried it yet.

The stills performance is pretty amazing as well. The CHDK enhancements means it gives my 300D a run for its money.
