sx40hs Firm Ver. GM1.00F, CHDK Ver: 1.1.0-2247

When CHDK is loaded on camera but <Alt> is NOT activated:

When screen is showing to the rear then is moved to show to the front, at the point where the image switches to a mirror image the screen blanks out white, and remains white all the way to the front.

If CHDK IS loaded on camera AND <Alt> is activated, the screen does NOT blank.

If CHDK is NOT loaded on camera the screen does NOT blank.

All of the above happen in Photo Taking mode and in Viewing mode, and whether or not Reverse Display is selected.

Above events 100% repeatable.

hi all, new here today :)

just a question, i did not want to post in feature request as it could already be a feature, but does chdk on the sx40 supporting longer video recording, i understand that without chdk there is a limit of 29 minutes i think?

i dont own the camera just yet but should be ordering in the next couple of days and i was wondering if chdk had a feature that let me record video for up to something like 1 hour

No, extended video record time has not been implemented for the SX40.

If you search around there are scripts that will start a new recording automatically - you lose a few seconds of capture between clips though.

oh right ok, shame...

but as you say, there is a script that will start a new recording automatically, which is brilliant, it would only be for home videos, so a couple of seconds lost is fine :)

can i advertise my topic here, as its relating to the sx40 i think i can? but if not let me know and i will remove link :) http://chdk.setepontos.com/index.php?topic=9468.msg96957#new

thanks for help :)

Is there any possibility that custom fps for video could be hacked?
Even if the HW can't do better than 1080p@24fps, that would still translate to 720p@54fps, 480p@162fps and 240p@648fps, going by the raw data rate.

Any idea if it's a sensor or firmware limitation?
