Not quite sure how creative this really is but last year during the summer I went on a road trip around Western Europe to go to the German GP.

I bought a windscreen sucker mount, made a custom dual source powering system (car cigarette + batteries when car was off/starting) and set it running. One photo every 2 seconds. Any more photos and the video would've been far too long, any less photos and it would've been far too jumpy. I found one every 2 seconds was a reasonable middle ground.

This was done using a Canon Ixus 220 HS with the pre-focus time lapse script.

I documented the early part of the power system here - http://chdk.setepontos.com/index.php?topic=8253.msg86842#msg86842 - but added a dual switch for an AA battery source.

Nice job but 43 minutes is a little long so I couldn't watch the whole thing. The best part of what I did see while scrolling through fast were the people in the tunnel train at the 8 minute and 36 minute marks.

Great job keeping the camera going that long! What script were you using? Do you have a link, or could you post it here?

You Europeans must be a lot smarter than us Americans. I don't know how you deal with driving on the wrong side of the road, and back to the right side, and all the different languages, and weird kilometers and grams, and all those centigrades, or whatever you call them.

I've been experimenting with high speed time lapse, mostly for sunsets, but I did do a driving test awhile back.

43 minutes is definitely long, but I found it was far too fast paced if it was any shorter and cutting sections out didn't seem right to me.

Almost the entire World has officially adopted the ISO system of measurement.

The only countries that have not are Burma, Liberia and the United States .

I agree with leaving it long for you to watch. That way you relive the whole trip. But other people watching don't have the same experience. It might be good to edit it down to a few minutes, maybe with multiple videos, of the highlights for other people to watch. I really liked the tunnel train part. That would make a nice video by itself.

The script uses a shoot() loop, so I think a shot every 2 seconds is about as fast as you can do. Were you able to go faster than that?

I can't remember trying to go any faster but I'll give it a go and see if 1 second is possible.
