I've discovered another issue with a feature I'd like to use.  Raw Develop doesn't work in any of the 3 versions of CHDK I have.  I can select the file in that mode but then Func.set or any other button doesn't do anything, the prompt mentioned in the User Guide never appears and I'm just taken back to the higher level menu.

Are you selecting a .DNG file?

Raw develop only works with CHDK RAW files, not DNG.
There should be an option in the file browser to convert a .DNG file to a CHDK RAW file.

Phil.

  sx130is (1.01d & 1.01f)

That was it, but the "developed" jpgs are a composite of the RAW file plus whatever the camera was pointing at when the shutter was released.  Since this is a different issue than the small jpg one I'm starting a new thread on this.

Hi
Sorry to be a bit of a Johnny come lately, but could you please send me a copy of the non exmem script plus instruc.tions on how to install it. I am using version 1.01a.

I have been running CHDK for a while first on my 590 and recently on the SX 230. I also have the quality and the crashing issues. My work is very detailed and top (superfine) quality is essential. I also do a lot of HDR.

This is my first post though I have been a regular reader of the forum for a long time.

Thank you

@Arte Automobilistica
I have attached a current CHDK 1.2 build that doesn't use exmem. Just copy the archive contents to the card, and use the bootable SD card method (it won't work otherwise, ps.fi2 is not included).
My earlier notes about the low amount of free memory still apply.

Thanks for your message. Sorry for not responding sooner but it has been manic.

I have tried to load it via the bootable card method, but in play mode it doesn't give me the option of a firmware update (the full Beta version does). The file I downloaded isn't a zip file - Is this relevent? I have copied the whole page (with the corner turned back) file and tried to load it. Should I be loading anything else?

Thanks  again

If it successfully loads with the bootable card method, then you're all set. CHDK does not actually "flash" the camera, "firmware update" is just another starting method. I have intentionally not provided a PS.FI2 file due to forum "unwritten" rules.

Thanks for your message. I can't get CHDK to load. I have attached a screenprint of my 16Gb SD card. Should it be partitioned or should I load something else?

Thanks

Your camera doesn't need and doesn't support partitions. You can use any card if it's formatted to FAT32 or FAT16.
However, the file you downloaded is a compressed archive, you need to extract its content to the card. You can download the 7-zip archiver from http://www.7-zip.org/ .
If the card is not bootable yet, you can use EOSCard to make it bootable. Before you put the prepared card back to camera, don't forget to 'write protect' it with that plastic switch on its side.

It works. Thank you. I now have almost twice the Mb compared to Canon fine.

Thanks again
