Is there a way to use CHDK to increase the burst shooting speed of the SX30IS from around one image per second to the eight per second which is standard on the SX40HS?
While there may be a way to hack deep enough into the SX30 code to do this, its would be a lot of very difficult reverse engineering. Nobody had done it so far. Also, I tend to suspect that if the Canon engineers had believed the SX30 hardware could shoot at 8 frames/second they would have made that feature available. The P&S camera market is very competitive.
