Hi guys
need some help..:)

Ive tried using the link for the Cardtricks download.. it appears on the site as the download, however when I open it on my PC its a 3kb file linking me into a page to upload files or photos.
file:///C:/Downloads/index.html
"Savedonthe.net hosts your files and images for free, for as long as you wish, without any tricks and gimmicks.
So, what do you wish to upload?"

the alternative site is now defunct
Ive tried the mirror sites and again no luck..
are the downloads still active on the link?
or am I doing something wrong?

TC

@alistair
@fe50

Just checked the links above the original post and they are OK
Removed the link within the (quoted) original post, as
links in quotes don't seem to work ATM

cheers,

wim

edit: also checked Wiki links, works for me ...

I suppose 'not highlighted' means greyed out / not clickable ?
CardTricks will 'grey out' the 'Make bootable' button for 2 reasons:

   1) the card is already bootable, in that case 'CHDK Autorun' should say: ON ('BOOTDISK' at 0x40)

   2) the card is formatted as FAT32 (check what it says after 'File System') - if it is,  use 'Format as FAT'
       and the button should become available

hope that helps,

Not really Card Trick specific: I have a Transcend 8 Gb SDHC card. I had 2 partitions on it, to automatically boot CHDK. It worked fine, but now the camera  says "Memory card error", winXP see two partitions but neither can read or write. If I try to format (even low level) with an SX 200 it goes, but the error persist. I can not finish the formatting in windows with any program, it says the card is locked.
Anybody has any idea how to repair it?

Version 1.44 is flagged as a VIRUS by Avast free anitvirus software.  It flags and quarantines the "CardTricks-144-SFX.exe" as well as the expanded "bintext.exe" file as containing "win32:Malware-gen".

@jzigchdk

False positive by Avast/GData engines (just rechecked via virustotal.com)
Check bintext.exe page at McAfee - the current owner - site here
