Thanks :)
Re: #6: I meant self-extracting CardTricks/build package :).
Also, why do you use zSHARE for hosting...I mean CardTricks is a tiny tiny program :) takes up nearly no bandwidth. just save it onto the forum server, or attach it to a forum post (ask the admin to enable clipping .exe-s :))

Also what's the point of making a Format AND Bootable button? I would suggest organizing the program like this:
STEP 1 - SELECT CARD
BROWSE Button (Browse Field Goes Here - the little card icon might be a bit confusing for some) Have it AutoSuggest :)

STEP 2 - PREPARE
PREPARE Button - just one button

STEP 3 - INSTALL CHDK
BROWSE Button - also make a version which auto-searches for a zip file in the same folder its in. That way I can bundle it with all the builds :)

ADVANCED
Put a card info button, which lists drive type, file system, etc.
All those other buttons only advanced ppls would use :)

@adcz

Well, I was already thinking about making a more automatic, first time user version, so I'll study your
suggestions closely. I understand most of your suggestions, but not #6: CardTricks already is a selfextracting
executable, or does that refer to the CardTricks + build zip ?
Anyway, to make waiting easier here is 1.33:

cardtricks133.exe - 0.37MB

- some GUI tweaks
- now shows a warning when JPG, CRW, or AVI are found on a card
   which is about to be formatted, even if 'stop info messages' is selected.

have fun,

wim

well... I calculated I already saved acseven more than 1 GB of traffic. Why have him pay it, zShare does it for free.

heh well a gig is really nothing these days. For 5 bucks a month you can get Unlimited Bandwidth (Host Monster - Web hosting)! But I suppose it does not really matter, since I am signing up for an account @ sourceforge for chdk, and then you can host it there for free :)

Quick one -
  When you click cancel on the confirmation page for making a universal dumper it continues anyway.  I had clicked it again to get a review of the instructions and ended up overwriting the card again...

@suds

Thanks for reporting, fixed in v. 1.34: cardtricks134.exe - 0.37MB

Sorry for the delay, but as mentioned before they're f***ing around with my house and I only occasionally have
access to my ADSL.

Oooh! Yay! Added to sourceforge. By the way, whim, can you do me a favor: send me the changelogs for all the versions. Thanks!

whim,

Cardtricks is a great program.  I used v1.34 to format, make bootable and copy chdk to my new 4gb card in just minutes.   I registered here to say thanks for making this tool for the community, it works great.

cheers.

Yeah! First I want to thank all of you who made our lifes better^^!
Then, :p, I have a question. Sorry if this question was arleady answered, but I must say that it's sometimes difficult to find something in this forum, so let me apologize.
So here is my question. I'm about to buy a 4 gb Sandisk SDHC ultra II class 4 card, and I wondered if I could use the card normally, I mean with autoboot. After all I have read, I suppose so, but I prefer to be sure before investing money into a new card. Anyway, thanks for your answers!

@syncros
thanks, glad it helped !

@A630lover

a 4gig card will need to be FAT16 formatted with non-standard 64K sector size, but I've yet to hear anyone
report problems. That's just 'hear-say' (or rather 'non-hear-say') though, I've never tried any myself, sorry.
