Yeah! First I want to thank all of you who made our lifes better^^!
Then, :p, I have a question. Sorry if this question was arleady answered, but I must say that it's sometimes difficult to find something in this forum, so let me apologize.
So here is my question. I'm about to buy a 4 gb Sandisk SDHC ultra II class 4 card, and I wondered if I could use the card normally, I mean with autoboot. After all I have read, I suppose so, but I prefer to be sure before investing money into a new card. Anyway, thanks for your answers!
It should. My 4 gig works great!!! fat16 formatting is possible on 4 gigs with non-standard cluster sizes :P (just memory quoting here :P)

Edit: or was it sector....

I have an S5IS. I use CardTricks v1.15 and it works great. Thanks to all who contributed.
CardTricks v.1.15 places the contents of my computer CHDK folder on the ROOT of my SD card. This puts the Diskboot.bin on the root as needed.
However, all versions of Cardtricks after v1.15 place the contents of my computer CHDK folder in a new CHDK folder on my SD card and puts ther ver.req file on the root. This does not work for the S5 camera.
Why was this changed after v1.15? Am I missing something? How can I use the latest Cardtricks version on my S5?
Thanks

Hmm? That's odd...I have an S5, and the latest version (1.34) works great on it. All I can think of is that you are pressing CHDK->Custom button instead of CHDK->Card.

I made a little guide - CHDK For Newbies - How To Install - CHDK Wiki
If you follow it, you pretty much can't go wrong :D

Hello & welcome godmode,

can i use card tricks to upload scripts onto my a540??

Not directly, with cardtricks you can prepare your SD card, copy & expand the CHDK files to your card, backup your cameras CHDK configuration and CHDK folder...all by using a card reader.

To "Upload" scripts (or any other files) to your cameras SD card just save the files (e.g. via drag & drop) on your card by using a card reader.

The script files should be placed in the \CHDK\Scripts - folder, but any other folder or just the cards root directory is also usable.

To load a script on your card then you can browse through the folders on your card in the CHDK menu and select the script file by its filename.

@whim
i've created a WIKI page about Card Tricks at http://chdk.wikia.com/wiki/CardTricks.
Maybe you could add new Version there, so we have a common place to look for it...
I hope, it's correct so fare... maybe you have a look at it...

I've user CardTrick 1.25 to dump firmware 1.00c from IXUS 900 Ti. Worked flawless!

I've also tried CardTrick 1.34, but it quit right after starting cardtricks134.exe. You can spot the AutoIt Trayicon for a half a second but no window / message appears or file get extracted like 1.25 does it... Dunno why... Is there something i missed?? (Windows XP SP2).
It's nice you used AutoIt to create to GUI, i ofter use AutoIt for simular purpose. Maybe I could get the source of 1.34, then i could  hunt for the bug myself?!?

Thanx for your work!

@pixeldoc2000

first post of this topic always has latest version, currently 1.34

1.34 works for me on XP SP2 - try removing/replacing the CardTricks directory, as existing files in there
are created, but never replaced.

Press About/Credits to find the source code ...

download latest version: cardtricks134.exe - 0.37MB

I tried to download cardtricks 1.34 from the above link for more than 10 times, but failed. Zshare simply returns nothing.
Does anyone successfully downloaded it recently?
