so my sd card reader pins in the camera broke and now it keeps saying the card is write protected.
is there a way to disable the write protection detection thru a firmware edit?

ok, many web searches later i see that everybody keeps pointing at magic lantern for dslr firmware hacks.
However, i want chdk because it enables me to bypass the write protect.

if i don't care about features, could i still install a "dummy" chdk on my 500d just so that i can still write into the card?
