High-speed HQ mode, AutoISO (SX40)

Hello,

I was wondering whether any future versions of CHDK are likely to be released, which will perhaps fix the following two issues of the latest SX40 script (2012.11.05 sx40hs-100f-1.2.0-2246-full_BETA )
1) AutoISO never exceeding ISO400 when used in High Speed Burst HQ mode; so for example even if there is an ISO value that is high enough to satisfy the minimum required exposure speed, still no value higher than 400 is ever selected
2) When shooting in HQ mode with AV bracketing turned on, pictures are not taken in succession from darkest to brightest (or vice-versa). Instead, the brightness of each picture goes up, then down etc, which makes it very hard to compare consecutive pictures in the bracketed series, in order to decide which one to keep

Many thanks, and best wishes to the developers!

Short answer?  Probably not.

Longer answer?  Its probably technically possible to work through the Canon code and figure out where it makes these decisions. But that would take an awful lot of work by somebody very good with ARM assembly code who  had a lot of time on his/her hands.

An other option might be to try and write a script to implement the shooting sequence algorithm you describe. But scripts on their own cannot shoot at HQ modes.  Perhaps some of lapsers recent mods would help - but again that's a big job.
