Help - CHDK Canon PowerShot A2200 GM1.00D

Hey Guys, I am new here and this is my first post. I am trying to install the CHDK on my A2200 but when I hit the review button - menu there is no firmware update option. I have all the files on the 8gb SD card and I did a low level format before transferring the files over. It is quite frustrating, any help would be great.

Thanks
DAK

According to this http://chdk.wikia.com/wiki/A2200 , booting with the "firmware update" method is supported for your camera.

Did you start the camera with the "playback" button rather than the On/Off switch?  Did you then go straight to the menu?

The most current info on CHDK loading is always here :  http://chdk.wikia.com/wiki/Prepare_your_SD_card

In addition to waterwingz comments, if you are using a Mac to transfer the files, see http://chdk.wikia.com/wiki/FAQ/Mac#Still_Having_Trouble.3F

And if reyalp's comment doesn't help,  please post the EXACT filename of the .zip file you are trying to load into your camera.   Did you get it from the CHDK autobuild server  ( http://mighty-hoernsche.de ) ?

It is a diskboot.bin and the stuffit expander says "The StuffIt Engine was unable to determine the file format." I downloaded the correct firmware from Might-hoernsche.de.  I am using a MAC.

I meant the filename of the file you downloaded.  Should be something like :  a2200-100d-1.1.0-2781-full_BETA.zip

And you need a ps.fi2 file in the root of your SD card to boot with the firmware update method.

You need a file named "ps.fi2" in the root of your SD card to make the "firmware update" starting method work. Please extract the whole archive content to the card, including the CHDK subfolder.
Note that it may matter which mode is selected on the camera's mode dial. "Simple" mode for example won't show the "firmware update" menu entry.

If you are using a Mac, your problem is almost certainly the one described in the FAQ entry I linked earlier.
