Fellow Nikon camera owners (DSLRs) now have some hacking going on on their cameras.

Though apparently [not actually evaluated] the hack is more intrusive than CHDK (or MagicLantern), by replacing the firmware with a patched version instead of working as a "software" extension, the "Nikon Hackers" are getting a lot of reviews and praise today.

Currently applicable to models D5100 and D7000, the firmware is accompanied with "results may vary" or "This should not brick your camera, but if it does I and the other Nikon Hacker team members will not have/take responsibility for any damages or liability" warning.
