Fellow Nikon camera owners (DSLRs) now have some hacking going on on their cameras.
Though apparently [not actually evaluated] the hack is more intrusive than CHDK (or MagicLantern), by replacing the firmware with a patched version instead of working as a "software" extension, the "Nikon Hackers" are getting a lot of reviews and praise today.
Currently applicable to models D5100 and D7000, the firmware is accompanied with "
results may vary" or "
This should not brick your camera, but if it does I and the other Nikon Hacker team members will not have/take responsibility for any damages or liability" warning.
