s5is 101a - beta (bin only) http://upload.dvhk.pl/content.php?id=102649
(greeting from poland)
I just can't seem to get this to work. I've got a 2GB stick, that I've made bootable using Linux, following the instructions on the wiki and copied the binary. I enable the lock and start up my camera and just get the old firmware which complains that the card is locked. What am I doing wrong?
I did, from Windows CLI, the following:
1. Mount the SD card with a reader. This will create another drive letter. If you have a camera that can be used as a reader (the S5IS cannot), use if you must.
2. Format the card! For example, my card mounted as drive "F", so I typed: "format F: /FS:FAT"
3. Copy bootable.exe to the card. You can find bootable.exe via the Wiki.
4. Change to the F: drive (or whatever it happens to be on yours).
5. Type "bootable F:"
6. When it asks "Are you Sure <Y/N>", answer Yes
7. It will finish without any error messages.
8. Copy the CHDK BOOTDISK.IMG file to the card.
9. Lock the card.
10. Insert the card into your S5IS.
11. Turn it on.
12. Learn to use it! Fun!
