Zoom factor in misc. values seems wrong

I have a Canon A4000 IS which has 8x optical zoom. When I zoom numbers fully the misc. value show for zoom are Z:126/2.6.

I know the software is still alpha (using CHDK_DE 1.2.0 2767), so is this just a bug not ironed out yet, or am I doing something wrong?
