how stupid of me, sorry I work normally with bklite and have it set at 1 minute for that mode

0 sec lens retract-set
5min interval-set
script is running..
oh, no I forgot the romlog...restarting script....
lens is retracting...looks good so far.
lens is moving out again, a real victory, this is a first!

a few seconds later the blinking led on the back of my camera stops blinking.........as of yet no picture has been taken. screen stays black.

The same what happened before when it did this after the lens retract... I'll wait a few more minutes and end the script.

Sorry - I've lost track of who still has what problem.   I've updated the script download to v4.8 which has the fix for crashing when switching to playback mode with the LCD set off.

Wow. Whatever you changed for this version did the trick. Now it works. When having the PlayKey power-save option on the lens retracts (both with the 0s Canon lens retract option and with the 1 min option) and the screen switches off. I have only tested this for a short amount of time, but it looks excellent  :D

I simply moved one line of code so that the camera does not turn off the LCD until after it switches from shooting to playback mode.

I was wondering and coudn't find it in the documentation

in the ultimate.log I see that minimum tv: 1/1000 and maximum is 1 sec.

looking at ultimate.lua it seems that shorter and longer timings are included.

does this mean my camera does not support shorter or longer shots or is there a setting i missed?

No, it just means that at some point I extended the available Tv range available in the script because someone asked for it and I did not notice the need to update the documentation.  Think of it as a bonus "easter egg" ?

When I wrote the original script, I was pretty sure that anyone doing a long term intervalometer shoot would not need exposures longer than 1 second or shorter than 1/1000 of a second. 

I'm an old "film person" - what else can I say?

I must say you are right in assuming that 1-1/1000 is enough for almost everything, so fair enough.
Was just wondering if I could pull more from the night shots with my tiny 1/1.7 sensor.

But before you know it you've got night shots that are brighter than dawn or dusk shots, so instead i'll go and look at a larger sensor camera...

If it is really that easy, I'd like to try to see if it would improve the outcome.
I can rig up 2 same model camera's to make a side-by side comparison of almost the same moment. (sorry no syncro between camera's)

Could you tell me what value to adapt in the script, then I can toggle it myself.
Or would you like to make that change?

Because I was thinking 2 seconds exposure as maximum would probably suffice, but maybe 5 seconds is needed to make a real difference in low light.....testing is always slow.
