Are there still older scripts available? The new script isn't working for me... So I would like to go back to the older script, which did work for me... Because when I launch the script, my camera crashes before the 60 seconds countdown in over. Last thing I saw happening was that night mode changed to day mode. Then my camera went black and it crashed.

I can dig up older versions of the script for you. Any idea what year?

I would also be interesting to understand why yours is crashing. My initial guess would be your choice of how the script disables the LCD backlight. Try disabling that option and see what happens?

That would be great! I thanks 😊 I believe it was a version all the way back from 2016. As far as I know there was during that time a Facebook post (on the chdk page) which showed something like: 'Download it now from this link!'. If I would have to make a guess which version it was I would say v4.1.

I'll try other options later today and edit this message, but I thought let's answer now, because tonight is of course the geminide storm, so it would be great to use the ultimate intervals meter for that 😅

Yesterday I also tried the backlight function instead of the LCD function and it seemed to work, because the 60 second countdown went Al rights, screen goes black. But when it needed to start taking pictures, it crashed. Or well, it should've started making pictures but it didn't. So I pressed the shutter button halfway just to check on it. And then it crashed. Screen froze for a second and then the screen went black. But I'll do some more digging and I will try to post a log file as well 😉

EDIT #1: I found an old ultimate log file. It states I was using 4.2. So that's the version I'm looking for! Furthermore I tried several options with 4.8. But non seem to work and it keeps crashing I'll upload a chdk log file as well in a bit. Just wanted to keep you guys updated.

EDIT #2: Crashlog added.

EDIT #3: Found the old version of ultimate on my moms computer! So no need for you to dig an old version up Waterwingz ;)

EDIT #2: Crashlog added.
This is something we still have not fixed. The solution is here: https://chdk.setepontos.com/index.php?topic=12314.msg128419#msg128419
You should be able to use the latest script is you remove or change the IS related line(s).

I'll do it tomorrow so I can try out the new script. But tonight I'll just use the old one :)

I would like to use the script for long-term timelapse. Important for this script is switching 'SHOOTING' to 'PLAYBACK' to keep the sensor temperature low. If I manually focus on the camera does the zoom or focus change when switching?

Even small changes would be seen in the video.

Does switching work even if the camera is in Half Press?

zoom does not work when ui is active, it can only be set at the beginning of the script.

but maybe you can work something out with.

it's old. but can give you an idea if what you want is what you are looking for.

If I manually focus on the camera does the zoom or focus change when switching?
The script will restore the zoom position to the value selected in the script user parameters each time it switches from playback to shooting mode. The only focus option currently supported by the script is focus at infinity and that will also be reset each time it stitches to shooting mode.

If you disable focus at infinity, the script makes no attempt to set focus, allowing the camera to do whatever it is configured to do.  Whether the Canon firmware keeps that configuration when going from shooting to playback to shooting is not something I've looked at closely.

Does switching work even if the camera is in Half Press?
The script does not support leaving the camera in half press state and toggling full press each time you want to shoot.  But if it was modified to do so, I expect switching to playback would terminate the hall press. And maybe crash the camera.

The script will restore the zoom position to the value selected in the script user parameters each time it switches from playback to shooting mode.
Why is that necessary?

When I switch from Record to Play on my SX50, the zoom does not change. My experience setting Focus with the same value always changes it a bit.

If I switch the SX50 then there is always a click. Where could the noise come from?
