Errorneous low battery message in video mode

Hi,

I recently purchased Canon SX 280HS and i found a problem with the video mode. The battery shows as low when the zoom is used during the video shoot. And when the camera is restarted then the battery shows the actual level.

Did someone face this issue? Is there a patch available for it?

This is probably be something you should ask Canon support.

Using the zoom and shooting video will both require more power than normal, but in a well designed camera the voltage shouldn't sag enough enough to shut down when the battery isn't low. Perhaps your camera or battery is defective.

Problem has been reported on the Canon forums by many users, and Canon have announced they are working on a fix.

They (Canon) can fix this only hardware way.
Too many gadgets inside the Cams sucks power:
-Processor, Many interface Chips, many micromotors e.t.c.
The things getting worse and worse.If they fix it software way, it"s not good solution.
The time for video records remain low and we need to change battery frequently.
On other hand battery industry lag with growing power in present days Cams.
